[kj] whetting the appetite :o)

I think Husker Du (brilliant band) played their whole double album on tour after it came out. Of corse, they used to release 2 or 3 records a year back in

the mid 80s...

Under normal circumstances -- or from any other band -- that would normally conjure groans, but I think it's pretty cool in this instance (largely thanks to the fact that the album's really fucking great). I can't wait to hear some of these songs live. Also, it'd be nice to see/hear Killing Joke play something *OTHER* than the playlist they've been beating into the ground for the past half-decade.

Though others have suggested Honour The Fire to be a filler, it has slabs of KJ gorgeousity in there, so highly regarded in my world.

Not sure whether I'm supposed to share this with you, but I got an email from a trusted source yesterday, who'd been on the blower to Big Paul, and the rumour was that they'd play the entire new album at The Fleece. That's probably the kiss of death now ... the messenger will likely get shot, at least by verbal volleys ... but it probably gives Jon the horn :o)

Subject: [kj] My "old" impressions of the new album

Here are below my humble impressions that I wrote end of march 2010 after the pre-listening of the coming album.
Reading all your comments, I would say that I was quite right in the target !

Stephane “ Frenchy Frenzy”

“It's very difficult to describe music but I would I was completely and happily surprised with the quality of sound and Jaz's voice who really sing on this album (and shouts too like on Endgame)
My fav ones are
Absolut Dissent with the incredible rhythm and break including the extra basslines and flow of the drums
Raven King for the melody
European Superstate : certainly a major hit in clubs if it's released as a single : completely different of what they have done before : Disco/Grace Jones and The Sparks meet Killing Joke : some will hate and some will adore (i hope so ;o)) THE catchy tune of all the tracks
Here Comes The Singularity : terrific, powerful, melodic and extra guitar riffs: a speedy one”
