10 years ago I worked with a brummie guy, the term "Gary Glitter" to him
meant "up the shitter." He was a pretty high-brow chap...used to walk past
ladies he liked and imagine how she liked "a bit of Gary". Which turned
into "GARAGE!" "GARAGE DOOR!" etc
