[kj] Blog entry at that new US food stuff

Authentically-made hummus is some of the best food in the world,
so i'm glad to hear it's getting around more.
That said, i'd say get yours in original middle eastern recipe or from
a place that makes it in any of the original middle eastern styles. After
seeing what happens to mexican, chinese, italian, etc. foods to "click"
with the american pallette, I dread to think how middle-eastern food
would be altered, seeing as how it's a garlic-y and exotic-spicy and all
that.

In L.A. i'd recommend Zankou (on Sunset/Normandie;HLWD) for some
damn good middle eastern food and cheap, too.

I’m a big fan of hummus but not a big fan of grains, after getting food poisoning a few years ago I can’t handle much grain in the diet at all, even though I was raised on bread and cereal, and muesli is one of my favourite foods.

Same thing is happening in NZ regarding that kind of food, it’s been popular here for 10 years or so now, and yeah it’s great to see some variety in the diet.
