You're both right, however none of the US collusion in terms of Saddam
changes the fact that he was a genocidal loonbag, which is Mik's point and
it's a valid one.

It's just shameful that the 'States had anything to do with aiding him,
the subsequent demonising was just hypocritical and opportunistic. An
enemy was needed to justify US presence in that region. (IMO, I'm not
writing a book about this stuff or anything ;).
