I've so far listened to 3 of them and they really brilliant, the sound is fantastic to the point that my wife commented on it....

I remember people asking where the sentence BTATS was coming from a couple of weeks ago, well the answer is in the remastered edition:

"The title "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" comes from a Sanskrit writing describing what many believe to be the first ever nuclear explosion, (about 7000BC) that will ensure that even more people than ever will get the joke but ironically even less will understand it".

I'm with the one that's with his fat northern on this topic. BTATS is that: majestic! But opposite to you i rate "Sanity" very low (i usually skip it), i hate those -right- too cheesy keyboards; but all the rest of the tracks are pretty good. "Adorations", "Chessboards", "Victory", "Rubicon", "Goodbye to the village" and "Exile" are imho outstanding. You should give it another chance Greg. Can't wait to get those remasters! Brighter Than A Thousand Suns is majestic.? Sanity is one of my favourite KJ tracks;? Rubicon and Twilight of the Mortal aren't far behind. The period 84-86 is when Geordie's sound peaked - sadly it has been downhill ever since (ditto Jaz's voice). I love btats but then again it reminds me of being 16 & having a whale of a time. I can see where you're coming from but imho geordies guitar sound is at it's peak on this album (& night time). Also his playing is?beautifully?creative. OK, synth-poppy track here but the middle 8 & outro on Sanity are inspired bits of playing. Rubicon is a?truly?hummus?track & again, his playing on that ae geat. Adorations again some beautiful playing. geordie - he am de-bestest & I drink the moisture from his gusset On 29 Jan 2008, at 19:13, GREG SLAWSON wrote: I think you could do a million remixes, remasters, and rerecordings of BTATS and it would still sound like lame New Romantic poop. I think it's even worse than Outside the Gate (at least that has some good lyrics and interesting arrangements). = _______________________________________________ Gathering mailing list Gathering at misera.net http://four.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/gathering ________________________________________________________________________ AOL's new homepage has launched.
