[kj] I JIHAD YOUR NEW ALBUM

I'm a Killing Joke fan, along with PIL, Queen, Beck, Radiohead, Led Zep,
Pink Floyd.changing directions is fine.

But if I'm on a hike and the trail leader takes a detour into the LAKE OF
SHIT I'm not following.

"Brendan come back and stop swearing, it's just a change of direction.right
and left is all relative.if you were a shit feeder you'd really like it,
it's all perspective, decomposers are a critical part of the ecosy..."

Yeah, I'm not a shit feeder, I haven't devoted as much of my life to music
as I have, spent hours working crap jobs with idiots to earn money to buy
records and go to gigs, collected back catalogs, spent thousands to convert
my entire collection to CD when the format changed, bought crap compilations
from people on the other side of the world just to get a single track (a
mediocre cover of an average song just for completeness), read thousands of
interviews, tried to expand my tastes by listening to average crap, fallen
asleep after listening to stuff for hours and hours, put up with all the
shit mainstream music I've had to endure in clubs, bars, other's people's
houses, lifts, malls, supermarkets, made mix tapes for girlfriends, tied as
much of my life as I have into the music I was listening to at the time, NOT
to have an opinion.

An opinion other than "OH I LIKE PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING.EXCEPT DEATH METAL,
HAHA"

Fuck that PC bullshit argument, just 'cos everyone spouts it, and just 'cos
on the face of it it looks conciliatory and all-inclusive, doesn't actually
mean it has any merit. You CAN compare across categories:

"A sub-par apple is always better than a tomato covered in shit, no matter
how much you don't like apples and do like tomatoes."

The only defence to the above is if you are allergic to apples (in which
case, in the analogical sense to my argument, you're tone deaf or music
makes you physically ill) or you actually like shit.which seems to be where
the world is heading music wise.

PS: Welcome to the list :-)

PPS: This sums up how I feel, in Chris's own words:

(The monotonous, semi-dead riff is intentional.you kinda get it or you
don't)

it enjoy the back catalogue and let it be artists are no different to vou or
