[kj] Perceptions so far.

well i've only just been able to listen to it, the album was waiting for me when i got back from London.

my opinions havent changed on it much, although it does sound much better than the leaked version.

its an album of average to great songs, with plenty of brilliant bits that arent used enough and plenty of nothingy bits which are used as entire verses.

Invocation is very weak.  sounds like a Puff Daddy backing track, not the new Communion that it was aiming to be.

 It certainly doesn't offend me that you like the album. I'm pleased. I wish more people loved it and it went to #1. KJ have never, ever, had the success they deserved. It's just that for me... look at it this way (and I know it's a slightly false comparison because bands evolve and so on, but I think it serves its purpose): if ED&VRE and HOSANNAS were released on the same day and i'd never heard either of them before... I'd be bowled-over by the former, but merely impressed by the latter.

   There are many dodgy lyrics (as there have been on pretty much all albums since REVELATIONS). jaz's voice is very poor in parts. 'Majestic' is too similar to 'Extremities'. The production is over-complicated. 
 
  

  its subjective anyway. You get out of it what you want and i guess that determined by your emotional state at the time. Your posts have been quite hostile recently Paul and i dont need to to delve into whats going on in your life or be judgemental. Its just an observation.  
  
 For where i am, the album is a welcome friend. I guess there are albums i thought were crap that you raved about. Im going to enjoy this one and i hope that doesnt offend any of you? Definately not Bob anyway!
