I have always tried to keep an open ear for anything new (hence my
recommendation for Kasabian (good band for anybody who likes Xterminator era
Primal Scream) and previous praise for bands like Cooper Temple Clause etc

My main exposure to newer bands tends to come from the dance spectrum these
days . . . Youth's Pandemonium era tendency to get his Psytrance mates to
remix the tracks set me on a path that has introduced me to some very good
(Hallucinogen, Prana, Bamboo Forest, Safi Connection) and some not so good
(I really couldn't recommend the Crop Circles CD's) stuff . . even then it's
music made by older people (mostly old punks it seems) for an older audience
. .

Unfortunately I find my musical taste for "guitar music" has become somewhat
stuck these days . . . it's not that I won't try to listen to new music it's
more that I will tend towards bands who show definite influence (in some
cases more than influence, CTC could be Hawkwind on some tracks) to bands I
got in to in my youth.

Anyway . . . I'm rambling . . I blame the heat & humidity :o)

Marc.
