i would guess those 2 tracks are from the session at conny planks studio =
with taif on bass (he mentioned it in the alex interview)

anyone know why albini is thanked on the lp sleeve?

Wasn't The Fanatic one of the tracks that was supposed to have been =
recorded by Steve Albini? I have no idea what that would have sounded =
like but there's a recording in the EMI archives that doesn't sound like =
it was recorded by Albini.
There's another track from the same sessions named Solitude but it's =
COMPLETELY different from the Solitude we all know and love.
Despite my best efforts there's no sign (yet) of studio recordings of =
Take Take Take, The Hive, New Culture or All Play Rebel but there is =
Blue Feather.
Hopefully these will see the (official) light of day next year.

dropped all together? Or did ethier of these songs end up becoming =
something else?
Both songs were probably recorded, why they never appeared anywhere =
is anyone's guess . . they probably didn't fit on the respective albums=20
