[kj] tour bootlegs

what is the best way to make bootlegs of the forthcoming tour? mp3 player?
minidisk? good old-fashioned tape? how long can digital cameras record for?

it occurs to me that this is the first tour they've done where the
technology exists for a concerted attempt to bootleg the entire tour all as
good quality recordings. audio mainly but perhaps video too. with a
combination of an active email list and recent improvements in recording
equipment we could really pull it off. so perhaps some discussion of how
best to go about it is in order?

for example, if we have at least two people from the list recording each gig
we would avoid loss of tracks due to problems such as turning the tape over,
batteries running out, etc.

am i being way too serious about this? do we really need all the gigs
bootlegging? geordie is planning a live (double?) album but still that could
fall flat. and some people want every gig even though the setlists don't
vary much!

i dunno, some advice on the best way to record a gig would at least be
appreciated.
