During the last 3-5 years when being part of a "normal" corporation no
longer seemed to represent job security or the traditional career paths of
the past, many people started considering other career paths. The smart
searchers positioned themselves to take an メeducated chanceモ and go with an
IPO company as well as taking the leap to make a major career change. This
September, the Keizai Society is featuring examples of both. Come and find
out how these two speakers followed their passions and how their educated
choices helped them get to where they are today. Find out how they made
their career decisions regarding メproductモ be it a high tech product or a
book product. Their answers may provide the information you need for your
next move.

Paul Sakamoto, CEO of Inovys Corporation, had a "traditional corporate
career path", focused in ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) which was a new
technology that emerged as a needed piece of the semiconductor industry He
took the leap, still in the semiconductor ATE industry, but a startup called
Inovys.

Barry Eisler is an example of the new breed of entrepreneurs who have taken
their past, seemingly traditional career experiences and merged the
knowledge into a seemingly new path. For those not acquainted with his
background, Barry is a former corporate lawyer who practiced in Japan and
the United States. He then transitioned to Dejima a high tech startup as VP
and General Counsel before publishing his first book "Hebi no Kiba" in
Japanese in Japan.
