いつもSVJENを応援してくださっている皆様へ、

シリコンバレーにも、毎日、抜けるような青空が広がる、ベストシーズンがやってま
いりました。この明るくカラリとした天気も、新しいことにチャレンジするカルチャー
の大事な一要素ではないかと、毎朝、家から外に出るたびに思います。

さて、お蔭様で、SVJENは設立以来２年が過ぎました。
イベントも会を追うごとに、内容の質や、集まる人々の熱気は高まっており、これも
皆様の暖かいご支援のおかげと、一同感謝しております。

しかし、振り返ってみれば、初めての日本人起業家支援組織として、数々の「まじめ
な」セミナーや討論会とそれに伴うネットワーキングを企画してまいりましたが、実
はまだ一度も、純粋に楽しむためのパーティを開いたことがないことに、一同ふと気
がつきました！

長い間沈滞ムードだったシリコンバレーも、昨年末から急速に景気が上向き、活気づ
いているのを肌で感じております。皆様の周りでも、新しい会社を作ったり、ビジネ
スプランを持ち込んだり、という話が急に増えているのではないでしょうか？
このたび、SVJENが7月8日に開催いたしますのも、この上昇気流をうまく捕まえ、エ
ネルギーのある人達と楽しい時間を過ごし、自分をめいっぱい充電して、この夏に新
しいチャレンジをしましょう！というパーティです。

起業家は"Play Hard, Work Hard"、こだわりのある方が大変多いというのはこれまで
の起業家トークセッション等でご存じの通りです。今回のパーティでは、そういう起
業家に直接会って話せるだけでなく、彼らの才能の一端、日本人起業家のJazzバンド、
香港人起業家のヴォーカル、はたまたNHKグランドチャンピオンの歌唱（どなたかす
ぐ分かりますね…）などをお楽しみ頂けます。

また、今回は、TIEやAAMA等、他のシリコンバレーのアジア系プロフェッショナルグ
ループの方も多数お招きしております。国籍を越えて、言語を越えて、様々な「元気
のいい」人たちとじっくり飲んで話して食べ、また、玄人はだしのパフォーマンスを
通して起業家のこだわりや情熱の一端を肌で感じとっていただければと思います。

今回は会場に"The Historic Del Monte Building"を選びました。
クラシックな雰囲気の由緒ある会場で開催される、このネットワーキングパーティが
皆様の更なる飛躍のためのスプリングボードとなり、新たな起業のヒントを感じとっ
て頂ける機会としていただければと、SVJENスタッフ一同願っております。

                "The first Networking Party"

Silicon Valley Japanese Entrepreneur Network (SVJEN) is proud to announce
the first Networking Party to be held on Thursday, July 8th at the Historic
Del Monte Building in Sunnyvale.

Silicon Valley has a knack for renaissance. Many pundits have declared the
Valley "Dead" only to have their prediction become laughable as new waves of
innovation have inspired entirely new industries and redefined the world
economy.  The magic that drives Silicon Valleyユs boundless capability for
self-reincarnation has always been the entrepreneurs that flock here, like
moths to some sort of inspirational flame. As we begin to see signs of
economic recovery, there is no doubt that this magic is about to manifest
itself again. 

But things just don't happen... even in Silicon Valley. People need to be
connected. Ideas need to be shared. Most importantly, enthusiasm has to
flourish and you need to have some fun. Please join us for an evening of
interactive and inspirational networking and fun entertainment from fellow
entrepreneurs who take time out of their busy work schedule to create some
music.  You will have the opportunity to meet with other entrepreneurs,
venture capitalists, executives from influential Japanese corporations and
many unique industry professionals.  We hope you will join us in a relaxing
but fruitful evening of networking and fun.

SVJEN was founded in March of 2002 with the mission to facilitate the
exchange of ideas and information. We provide Silicon Valley's Japanese
entrepreneurs a venue to support their activities and an opportunity to
network with their peers.
