People who want Python 2.x will be able to keep using older, Python
2.x-compatible versions of SCons.

Also, establishing a non-direct-Python interface (i.e. command line
or, maybe, compatibly-pickled objects) between SCons and
builders/moduls/whatever might help people to use Python 2.x stuff
with SCons+Python 3.
