Hello List,
If you are considering Y-DNA testing and haven't decided where to test, there is
something to bear in mind when making comparisons between laboratories...
Ancestry-DNA includes four very rare markers in its counts, namely: DYS19b,
464e, 464f, and 464g. Almost no one has these markers, which means their
33-marker test is really a 29-marker test, and their 46-marker test is really a
42-marker test.
FamilyTreeDNA does not count these four rare tests in its standard bundles; yet,
if you have any of them, they will test them without additional charge. If
FTDNA counted them, their 12-marker test would be 13 markers, their 25-marker
test would be 29 markers, their 37-marker test would be 41 markers, and their
67-marker test would be 71 markers.
