[kj] Pylon Running Order/ New Jerusalem

New Jerusalem was / is my favourite, I’m with Nick and Adam.

Delaying the lyrics release for a fortnight or so offers the opportunity for several listens undiluted by any intellectualizing, just the music (and serendipitous chance of some amusing mondegreens AKA misheard lyrics).

I just heard something today, which confirmed what I felt about New Jerusalem

When I first heard it, it was my 'stunned silence' hairs on neck standing up, track- it's def not meant to be a 'stand out track', but there is a specialness to it that reconfirms my feelings about the band.

I have a (female) friend, connected in w me through my work- has heard me talk about killing joke and there was a new release coming - but I go into no specifics , because none of it is really her 'thing' and she doesn't seem much of a music person in general

But- she downloaded Pylon- and said ' New Jerusalem sent tingles though my whole body'

She was awestruck..

Liked the whole album, but 'New Jerusalem' was it...

So, those who aren't feeling it- there is possibly something wrong with you ;-)

A

I'd agree, New Jerusalem, nearer top for me too. I just wish I could get the lyrics, not picking many out and seems to be big over sight not to have had them, either on the sleeve notes or the site the sleeve notes direct one to go to for them.

To my ears this is SO wrong! One thing is for sure, us Joke fans always disagree on tracks. Star Spangled and Delete alongside the one I agree on War On Freedom would be at the bottom of my pile....with New Jerusalem near the top.
