[kj] corby - setlist

Frankly it was better (i.e. more "rareties", ok not really rare, but you know what I mean) than I was expecting!

Agreed re This World Hell (and The Great Cull IMHO). That's why I couldn't remember the names of those tracks.

I thought the sound was a bit muddy (especially on bass-heavy tracks like Turn To Red) but maybe it was just loud.

The highest highlight for me was European Super State - fantastic bouncy dance number epitomising what I love about KJ. Joint second place shared by Beautiful Dead and Money Is Not Our God. I'm not a big fan of that era, but those are great tracks & the former in particular hasn't been heard live for ages.

Disappointed not to hear K&Q - it's an absolute stormer, very hard and very dancey.

Great to see some old faces & indeed some new ones.

I got home at about 1:45 (including a brief kip in Toddington services) - but well worth it.

Hope y'all have a great gig on Saturday.

Jamie

PS Is anyone going to the Welsh prison camp thing tonight?

Not a bad set list all in all, but would have hoped for a couple of nice surprises for a singles tour, really never been keen both on or their insistence to keep playing "Asteroid"....getting tired of hearing "Pandemonium" and find "This World Hell" plods along too much live.

I somehow doubt (the band are too lazy) there will be any extra songs or surprises for Saturday but we can hope. KJ never play longer than 1hr 40 mins...and with their output (and so many albums they push aside) their setlists get as stale as bands that have had only 3-4 albums in their career (The Chameleons)

I am very surprised there is no "Kings & Queens", how about surprising us with a BTATS number like "Adorations", actual one off single releases such as "Me Or You", "A New Day" or "Birds Of a Feather" a showing or giving the long forgotten album "Democracy" a shout, throwing in a quality B side like "Mass"...giving us their actual first A Side (this is a singles tour after all) "Nervous System" and not forgetting "Millennium" was actually a bigger "hit" single than "Pandemonium" was.

Still very much looking forward to it, but fewer surprises than I was expecting tbh.

Ahh yes Chop-Chop NOT Pandys.

Antoni, a broad grin on your face after the gig...but you would after a KJ gig and Chelsea victory all in one night.

To add: This World Hell and I think it was Pandys or definitely another from Revelations oh and definitely Money Is Not Our God.

Great night - VERY loud I thought....or is that age.

Very long drive, got home 3:30am, but well worth every mile.

Brian.

That's pretty cool, Johnny and I will be seeing kj for the 1st time, hopefully, in June. What better than singles...well okay I could name a few, but having never heard wardance etc I'm pretty stoked...
