[kj] Letters from Cythera Leak

And I don't think it's "naive" to imagine this came from Jaz's camp. "Letters from Cythera" is an esoteric, self-published book of interest to (currently on Pledge) 547 people around the world, not counting orders just for the symphony or the t-shirt. I can't imagine there are a lot of people outside the KJ camp willing to invest the effort and skullduggery required to make a pdf. available to the 40 or so hardcore users of this list when the Pledge campaign is over in 5 days anyway.

Is the implication that this was leaked without Jaz's knowledge? I was operating under the assumption that the "blackjester" email address was Jaz himself, or someone within his camp who sent it to this list with Jaz's blessing.

In the end, everyone on this list was sent the same email with the same attachment. Everyone would have had the same opportunity to read (or not read) what was sent, except for the many people who apparently had the attachment stripped out by spam filters.

The original message was "Welcome to the world of the blackjester. Let me know what you think, gatherers."

The book itself has some decent info and a few good photos but the majority is taken up by abstruse New Age philosphizing that is, frankly, over my head.

My conscience is clean.

I was wrestling with the same question, Rob.

And this is not at all judgemental. Please, no one take offence.

But this is Jaz's book. It is his work, his property and is for sale.

Would we accept the leaking and distribution of a Killing Joke album? What I mean is, if you had a new Killing Joke album a month or two early, would you put it out there for public download or not?

I'm trying to establish if folks find a difference morally between the written word or a recording.

You can't see any link because we've got the file in an e-mail attachment.

I've uploaded it to my server - you can download it from this link: http://files.killingjoke.cz/LetterfromCythera.pdf [size ~7.5 MB]

Feedback on the manuscript is welcome, I suppose.
