For those holding tickets to the remainder of the North American tour, you're in good shape. The band was very tight last night (a number of song endings don't seem to have been worked out yet, however it didn't mean a lick). Geordie was loud enough! (Not for me, but hey.) Jaz looks to be in very good physical shape and in fine voice and seemingly very appreciative of the audience reaction. A slight youth injection into the crowd brought a lot of life to the proceedings and created a decent sized pit in front of the stage (something that's been missing on the US dates for the last decade or so). The communion with the crowd and the band's obvious preparation made for a really great KJ show. A number of highlights, not least of which were some oldies like Turn to Red, Chop Chop and Sun Goes Down. A great version of European Super State and a flawless rendition of Corporate Elect off the new record (I regret that's all we got off that one). Personally, I was very glad they broke out Money is Not Our God and Death and Resurrection Show. All told, it was a locomotive of a set and I think it shows the reunited original cast is firing on all cylinders. And always great to meet up face to face with some Gatherers, cheers to Alex in NYC, Mr. Coleman, and Mr. Levy. Hope the next one is soon!
