[kj] MMXII first listen:

I know I'll probably get into different songs after a while - when Rapture
was
revealed I didn't even manage to get to the end, thought it was very
average. But live it was a
revelation (pun intended) and now I can't stop listening to it.
Kneejerk reaction is that when MMXII is good its very good, and when it
sucks it sucks - so
no change really! Certainly not buying this 'album of their career'
schtick. But upon first listen
there are several songs that piss all over the previous two albums.

Yes Rapture is Exorcism - I have no problem with that!
Yes Pole Shift sucks a big one - hate that slow/fast/slow business.
Yes Fema Camp sucks a bigger one.

And yes Trance rips off Pssyche, which is probably why it is a work of
fucking genius.

And yes, if pushed then I'm slightly disappointed that In Cythera set the
bar so high.
But the bottom line, as ever, through all the nitpicking is that I'm
overjoyed to be listening
to and arguing about a new Killing Joke record.
