Yeah, "best" is tricky.

One of the reasons why Manchester 89 stands out for me is that it was such a relief after OTG!

I think picking the best ever KJ gig is a very sunbjective thing. For me I think Manchester 89 is probably up there with the first time I saw them at Fagins in circa 81. However, in my book, there is one that is definately the worst and that would be the gig at Manchester Apollo in 86. The sound was that bad, from where I 'had' to stand' that the first song I could recognise was about 6 songs in.

Munich 2012 will be one of the best as well.

Brian.

Not sure I'd go quite that far but it was definitely *one* of the best.

The 89 Manchester gig was the best ever KJ gig I think.

Yes, spot on from Paul.

I saw them twice in early summer 1989 (Manchester and London in quick succession) and the set was about 50% ED&VRE material. Plus I bought The Beautiful Dead flexi at one of the gigs.

Some ED&VRE material premiered in late '88. 'Extremities' and
Beautiful Dead' I think. Then played extensively through '89 so a gig
t the end of '90 definitely would have been in plenty of time.

>From what I remember of my bootleg collection the set would probably

lso have included most of: 'Fall of Because', 'Empire Song', 'Night
ime', 'Kings & Queens', 'Love Like Blood', 'Frenzy', 'Follow The
eaders' plus the usual album tracks and b-sides from 1980.

Lol, good catch. Major brain lapse on my part.
I am so off my game right now i was about to "correct" your info and say,
"no, Democracy was only TWO years after.. oh shit!"
Was just wondering if the 12-30-90 gig was in time to include
"Extremities.." songs.
