Without Torrent, we could never watch or have watched:  NCIS, BSG, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, The Soprano's and The Wire.  I recommend the lot.  Also the Temple Graundin film that HBO did.  Bugger anything else.  
 
(Yes.  No 24?  Strange but true).

Click (open)the torrent file and it should run in uTorrent. You might get prompted to ask which programme but you will be able to select torrent from the list.  It will download the files to your downloads folder( or wherever you select). Sometimes it takes a long while depending on the size or the number of seeders. 


If you open uTorrent you normally see the progress. 


You have installed uTorrent as a programme/ bit client haven't you?

It is .torrent, so I think that part is OK, but I actually downloaded the file first and then installed utorrent.  I'll try it the other way instead.

Utorrent opens the torrent file (a small text file) and downloads the torrent it is pointing at 
 
What is the file extension of the big file you have?

OK, I downloaded a torrent file and then downloaded utorrent to open it.  

I double-click on the file, which is quite large, but nothing seems to be happening.

Is anyone familiar with utorrent or something better?  I'm just not sure what is supposed to happen.
