[kj] Night Time v Hosannas

Honestly, for me, Hossanas gets more air time, than I would play Night
Time.... I love Eighties, but that’s pretty much it... Yeah, the mix on
Hossanas SUCKS, but I always CRANK UP THE EQ! I bought most of the
remasters, but with the exceptions to Night Time, OTG, and BTATS... I do
still have my original Night Time on CD.... I prefer Fire Dances over Night
Time though, and of course the first three albums! Of course Democracy is
one of my favorites!!! Oh no... Hear come the forum trolls...

Night Time: Good!

Hosannas: Bad!

Night Time: Excellent production!

Hosannas: Shity production that sounds it was recorded in a toilet at
times!

Night Time: Jaz sings!

Hosannas: Jaz yells!

Nuff said!

I understand that Night Time is up there in the pantheon of classic KJ
releases
but 25 years (!) on the only songs I listen to on a regular basis are
Darkness Before Dawn,
Europe and LLB. I thought it was patchy at the time and have never changed
that view.

Hosannas is also patchy - and has a far more dodgy sound - but Invocation
and Judas Goat
are, for me, two of the finest songs the band have written in the last few
decades. I also like blasting
Walking with Gods and Lightbringer - in those edited versions (off some
single?) Or I just
get itunes to fade 'em out after 5 minutes...

So in listening terms its equal honours between the 2 records - even if my
nostalgic heart tells me
Night Time is way above Hosannas.

Night Time - Glossy production, very good recording work
Hosannas - terrible rushed recording (maybe there was a reason?), that kills
some good ideas that were not executed very well. Better recordings have
been done on an old fostex 4 track. I like rough edges, but not Hosannas.

That's just whistleheaded horsehockey. Anyone who doesn't have ten gallons
of water-buffalo dung in their ears knows that NIGHTTIME shits all over
HOSANNAS from A GREAT, BROWN, SPLATTERY HEIGHT.

Geordie informed Benny. That doesn't mean the decision was his alone.

Since all the other members of the band have spoken the sickness implied
must be Jaz's, however it seems this is an excuse so the real reason must be
something else he has done.

A few have already expressed concerns re the European dates and I'm in
agreement with them. I won't be taking any gambles on this tour.
