BTATS has some mystical quality to it (to me) -
KJ albums if I listened to them through a couple times in a row they pull
me in different directions/mixed bag of emotions, but BTATS I always feel
good, inspired and uplifted. It always has reminded me of summer/sun
drenched - well when I came out I just graduated HS and I played it all summer at
the beach- when im in LA I play the hell out of it- just one of those
things. I wouldn't say its their best, but if I had to pick one album from here
on out and one only (not a comp) , it would probably be that one..
*(that might be a good topic- if you only could listen to one KJ album
ever again from here on out, what would it be- it may not be the one you think
is the best...)

Hosannas, for me, the issue is half or more those songs just have so much
dead space in them- Implosion, Lightbringer, Judas Goat, Walking with the
Gods, Invocation (missing a few im sure)- its like someone said to them "hey
I know these songs are 3-4 minutes, but you have to stretch them out into
8-10 mins"- those songs all have some redeeming qualities, but the length
and dead space doesn't do it for me.
Hosannas I actually like but a bit long winded..
I will say I really do like Majestic- It doesn't really fit on that album,
but it has some mystical/otherworldly sort of mood to it. I remember
hearing a sample of it (bf album was released) right before I went to India, and
it haunted me the whole time I was there- needed to hear it again. Its up
there in the classics for me.

AD, to me ,has more misses then hits, but the misses are near misses (not
by much)- Some are growing on me... I do love Ladbroke Grove (instant
classic) and looking forward to an ESS remix/redo.
The topics they cover lyric wise are strong and does help to make up for
some of the tracks- Like I know people who would love (lyrically) AD, but if
I passed that particular track onto them they would be like what the hell
is this...

I'm really hoping they hit it right with 2012- I have a feeling they
will...

BTATS is worth re-discovering, I'd suggest, especially the re-release.
OTG, meanwhile, remains as bad as you remember it (but it's still
better than HOSANNAS).
