[kj] Another one, just to be annoying...

Downtown L.V. is shabby-chic. My kind of place. I have a lot of stories about hanging out around there.
And I remember when U2 was filming that vid; we tried to sneak in and check it out, but only saw a glimpse of the band.

Cheers,

k.w.

Ah, I see. I thought the FreSEx had always been there but I just saw the U2 vid for IStillHFWILF (from '85) and saw how much better and original/organic/"authentically"-Vegas/better! that street looks without the video-roof'. I just have a soft spot for Downtown Vegas, i guess. To me Downtown Vegas is like a regular down-home country girl to the Vegas Strip's Jocelyn Wildenstein.

The Fremont Street Experience did not blight Downtown until '95. In '85, Downtown still had its sleazy charms, as natives like myself preferred.
(But for the record, I first heard that great tune in my bedroom, while listening to KUNV, on a balmy spring evening.) = )

I agree. Most of these covers are not good, but it shows the power and influence of Killing Joke.
And "LLB," 25 years on, remains powerful and haunting.
FWIW, I remember where I was the first time I heard it in the spring of '85.

I used to complain about the dearth of KJ cover versions, now I weep at their existence.

Still, nice thay're being remembered.

Also, re: the CB/TH videos; why do little girls like little boys who look like little girls?
