[kj] OT: Zardoz

"Clone Wars" series was heavily, seriously flawed. Not a fan, either. "Zardoz" fits nicely in the "ambiguous, very negative-themed 70s sci-fi genre. I enjoy it.
Would also recommend "THX 1138." Far from great, but intriguing nonetheless.

Best,

Well, I liked the first "Star Wars", but will never forgive for the "Clone Wars"......;)

What do you think about "Zardoz"? Just saw it a few days ago for the first time. I have to watch THX-1138 again.

OK, for the sake of argument, let's say that the "Star Wars" series is kid-marketed glop. (I confess to having some affection for "Empire." So sue me.) I do think Lucas was heading in the right direction with THX 1138, as loopy as it could be in some parts.
And while he may not be the greatest director or screen writer ever (especially on the latter), the man has been an important visionary in the sci-fi/fantasy world.

Cheers,

First Kubrick, now Spielberg. I think I'll depart quietly before someone starts praising George Lucas!

Jim.
