[kj] Killing Joke ... for the journey ...

Interesting experience; thanks for relating that.
Well, each person deals with such issues in his/her own way, but given my father died at age 44, I for one will be grateful if I have more years. Yes, there are many physical and emotional issues that come with growing older, but I see nothing wrong with keeping a positive attitude, if at all possible.

heh, i was at the beach at Mangawhai the other day, and i saw some dudes whom i hadn't seen in a while, one of them, years... i said to the one i hadn't seen in years that he was looking rather old, and he replied that 'unfortunately time does this to all of us, blah blah blah...' then he walked away, i think a bit deflated.. lol. anyhoo, i had just had a smoke, and wasn't as sharp as i could have been, hammering into him the fact that he only had about 30 summers left, and he only had more age and decay to come, followed by DEATH... sigh. i'll get him next time..!

Bongo: I could not agree more with your last comment; it was beautifully stated. In today's youth-obsessed world, such a philosophy is refreshing. I would never want to be a teenager again, and most of my 20s were not fun, given my immaturity and cluelessness of who I was, so frankly, I don't really miss those, either.
Things really starting improving in my 30s. Does the idea of facing all those annnoying issues that accompany -- or heaven forbid a serious illness in -- the later years? Not especially, but as you said it is all part of the incredible experience of being on this earth.

Cheers,

Karen
