[kj] Endgame(s)mix/

Agreed, no matter what other kinds of music we all may like and what sonic
traits of that music we find affinity for ( "hey, I like rustic tin pan
alley twang and holler music, woo hoo go killing joke"), hopefully we will
not allow those traits to become part of our excuse for Killing Joke to not
be "Killing Joke".

Killing joke, have always been their own animal, and created what no other
band could. Unfortunately the last two killing joke records show signs that
killing joke are becoming loose with their steadfast individuality and have
created music that is pandering, more and more, to the lowest common
denominator lurking in their projected audience.

After so many years of not particularly stellar offerings, the reunion of
Big Paul with Youth, Geordie and Jaz has suggested a renaissance, which
harkens back to the time when they created great original music in their
past and it will be realized again.

Although, with all past let downs times have changed, and many followers
aren't swallowing the bands' - "this is our best record ever" Spin and froth
ad nauseum. the legendary names of those involved carry with them
responsibility to deliver in a very big way.
Or just become the old grandma that the family love's but who can't remember
anyone's name anymore, talks to the people on TV and poops in bed.

I don't want to just purchase their records, attend their shows, join the
church, in order to carry the band in their old age out of respect for their
past.

sorry, but Killing Joke are not, and should never be 'lo-fi garage
rock'. The production on Hosannas was fucking dreadfull. The bass and
drums sounded like they'd been recorded from a seperate room. With the
door shut.
