Hi Adam,

Those are sensible and thoughtful comments (yours, not Jaz's <grin>).

(By the way, this thread makes it look like I wrote the comments at the bottom, which I didn't. I said I thought he was being silly, rather than heartless / despicable.) I agree that a lengthier and non-public discussion with him would probably elicit a more coherent point of view... but I still think it's silly to offer up soundbites like that. Sounds a bit like a rebellious teenager trying to draw attention to himself.

Cheers,

Jamie

Subject: [kj] KJ Documentary trailer- Jaz remarks

I went to watch the Doc and it was taken down- my thoughts is his comment on "suicide bombing" isn't meant in a total literal sense- I've actually randomly heard a few other (very bright) people say roughly the same thing--
Its not the actual act of a suicide bomber, but the intense conviction they have that is admirable to some--
There is a saying that goes something like "if you don't stand for something that worth dying for, then you're not really living a life"-- my thoughts are if you said "really Jaz- that's pretty extreme, what do you mean by that"- if he expounded then you would get an answer similar to what I mentioned.
I feel the same way (about a life of conviction and meaning) but I would never in a million years use the example of a suicide bomber, cuz of how despicable it is on so many levels..

As for the "9/11 was an inside job" remark- again, if you said "really Jaz, really?...., do you care to explain why you feel this way" you would find he would give you an educated answer that was based on actually looking into the matter- whether you care to agree or not.
In fact if everyone pushed cognitive dissonance aside and open mindedly took 1/2 to an hour of their time to look into all the aspects of the issue, then you would probably see why some feel that way- and at the least you probably wouldn't think the "9/11 truthers" are just blowing hot air- whether you would totally agree with them or not you would see how they base their conclusions.

Anyone I have ever known who open mindedly looked into the matter, never came out of it with the same initial thoughts- and im talking about some people who never even entertained "conspiracy" notions in the past.

As they say "condemnation without investigation, is the height of ignorance"...

Same for people (seems it comes up quite a bit) in high circles who blurt out "zionists run america" or something as such--
Do you think theyre coming from the mindset of some racist deep southerner and his disdain for "nig*ers" ? well no and if you asked them to expound they would give you a list of reasons and whole explanation why-- do you think they would really go out on a limb and saying as such if they didn't have experience with it or did their due diligence?
to just quicky throw a blanket "anti Semitic" or "conspiracy theorist" tag on someone to me is pretty cheap and an easy mental diversion tactic.

though I wouldn't go throwing out "9/11 is an inside job" or topics as such (which seems a bit reckless to me) as randomly as jaz without being able to give full explanation, I do know where he (and others) are coming from and respect the fact that they care enough to look deeper into the subject matter...
Whether their conclusions totally match up with mine or not...

Adam

"Live at the Forum 2008", where Jaz mentions that he agrees with someone mentioning " That 9/11 was an inside job". I'm sorry, but that is pretty heartless and despicable to say. What Bullshit statement!! The other statement, "I want to be a suicide bomber", WTF insane prospect...

"Yeah, the whole "I want to be a suicide bomber" thing is pretty
ridiculous. If I'm not mistaken, he also exclaims same during the live
version of "Bloodsport" on XXV LET US PREY. Strikes me that he just
thought it sounded provocative, so he bandied it about for a while.
Seems a bit counter-intuitive to Jaz's other statements regarding the
sanctity of life.

if he DOES genuinely believe it (i.e. condone suicide bombing), I'd be
surprised.
