M.I.A., who is a much bigger act than KJ, played the Echoplex a couple of years ago so, you never know...
Anyone know how live music sounds at Das Bunker (at the old Catch One)? I haven't had the chance to yet.

The Mayan's a great idea. (anyone been to those new Nokia theater or club??)
I wasn't totally sold on the El Rey when KJ played, but it sounded better
when I saw
Juno Reactor there.

(Saw Underworld at the Wiltern from the floor/GA
area.. not too good, hence my preferin the mezzanine.)

++++++++

Actually, The Avalon (which used to be The Palace) would be perfect although
they rarely host actual rock concerts there anymore.  Excellent sightlines,
great sound, full bars and lots of local parking with easy freeway access.
I saw KJ around '85 during the Night Time tour at The Palace - it used to be
my favorite Hollywood venue during the 80's.

The Nokia Theater's a really nice place but it's a bit too sterile and all
reserved seating if I recall.  Worse, there's a lot of construction going on
all around the Staples/Nokia plaza right now and it's a major pain in the
ass parking and getting in and out of the area.

I would have also suggested The Galaxy Theater in Orange County which was a
pretty cool little venue that hosted bands as diverse as Motorhead and
Concrete Blonde but they closed their doors last February leaving only The
Grove and the dreaded Disneyland House of Blues both in Anaheim.
