I wonder if we could get some video footage of that?

"I wonder if Elton will be singing "Candle in My Ring" at the service?"

Wouldn't' a more appropriate song for the funeral be "I'm forever blowing Bubbles"?

Not a direct reply to you, Darren Hungerford, just my opinion:

Isn't the same media that damned him now making money off his death? No more double-standards

than usual there.

I think as Glitter has been caught, ahem, red handed, everyone knows what he is. With Wacko, I don't

know how much is real & how much is circus, regards him being a child fucker. I mean, I wouldn't put it

past those greedy families to simply capitalise on a situation & make it seem worse than it is to make

more revenue. How can you say they're greedy fuckers, ade?? How could you say that??!! Because I

don't remember any of them attacking Wacko, trying to kick his nose off. I mean, if he fucked YOUR

kids, wouldn't you want to kick his face in until it was nothing more than mince & tiny bits of plastic?

If you managed to stop yourself from doing that, wouldn't you persue him relentlessly through the courts?

Or would you just take a pay-off & be the money-grubbing scumbag you always were?

BUT

I expect to find out more in the coming weeks & months. Once that happens, people will either continue

to be full of the love of Micheal Jackson (The New Di), or washing their mouths out with bleach at the

thought of the nice words they used, which are now overshadowed by horror.

I wonder if Elton will be singing "Candle in My Ring" at the service?

We are inevitably more forgiving of our heroes. There are still an awful lot of Who fans around.

And when I said Paul Raven, I meant ours, not Mr Glitter, obviously.

It would be reasonable to argue that MJ was acquitted of the child molestation charges. It would also be reasonable to mention that he paid out many millions of dollars to silence potential litigants. The conclusion is, I think, reasonably straightforward.

However, Hitchcock was not a splendid fellow when he sent a very young Melanie Griffiths a little doll of her mother Tippi Hedren in a coffin. I still like his films. The issue arises, I think, when someone's contribution to society is defined by their crimes.

Personally, MJ's music brought me no pleasure (I still remember cursing whenever "Rock With Me" invaded my Radio Luxembourg listening), so am not affected by his death in the same way that I was by, say, Paul Raven's.

What really pisses me off is the attitude of the media to this, predicated on the unshakeable conviction that I am really, really interested in the paedo. I'm not. Really, I'm not.

I'm spending the next two weeks in an isolation tank.

Aside from the implication that paedophiles are okay if they've also written some nice songs, my main grievance about this whole bloody circus is the media conspiracy to hush-up his charming recreational activities. I could be wrong, but none of the eulogies, bios and ass-kissing pieces of tripe that I've read actually mention his court cases and multi-million dollar out-of-court settlements. The closest any of them have come was a sheepish remark that "[his] later life was dogged by legal problems". Since when did being arrested count as a 'legal problem'? That makes it sound like some boundary dispute with a neigbour, or at worst a little income-tax evasion.

It's disgraceful. If Gary Glitter had actually written some half-decent songs, does that mean he was really a nice guy? When he dies do we all have to agree not to mention his child molestation in case it offends someone?

Jim.

It's all fucking meaningless. People have been force-fed this inane bologna for years that MJ was some sort of "genius' (the most abused word in the English language). Pile of fucking crap.

I'm sick of it.

If his fans liked his music, why didnt they have the c.d's, downloads etc already? Why the sudden rush to purchase and d/load. Somethings smells and dont just mean his corpse!
