Now give him back to your parents. You'll be better off, trust me.

I totally nailed my little brother, he criticises me for liking Queen (gay, effette, effeminite, weak fairy music etc) and Killing Joke (speech impediment vox and stupid lyrics a la "we'll take your wealth YOU'LL HAVE MUCH LESS...").

His favourite band is Nirvana and his favourite song of all time is Come as You Are, so I nailed him with the fact that it's ripped off from a riff by one of my favourite bands, and the lead singer of his favourite band mentioned Freddy Mercury in his suicide note.

OWNED.

Heh! That rankles a bit. If you think that some of what you like is “dubious crap”, but you still like it, that can only mean that you like things that you think other people will think less of you for liking. That’s awful. What does it matter what anyone else thinks? Which arbiter of fashionable taste are you flouting?

When people harangue me because they don’t like some of the stuff I like, I a) point out something far worse that they like and b) laugh at them.

I'll be the first to admit that I like a whole lot of dubious crap, but who cares?
