Bush IS a Nazi.

Being young doesn't preclude you from being harmed financially.

And there IS a coherent message, despite some of the protestors committing
the sin of having dreadlocks and not dressing very dapper (?!) - the govt
and corporations have completely fucked things up for the population they
are duty bound to represent, and whose interests they are supposed to look
after (yes I know corporates are all about making money but they ostensibly
have a responsibility as employers and big players in the marketplace etc
etc) and a lot of people are totally disenfranchised with the lot of them.

About a year or more ago I talked about the bailouts, I said it would be a
direct consequence of subprime. It's extremely rare that individuals are
bailed out, for completely irresponsible corporations to be bailed out is
crazy in my mind. I could care less about stability. Things are pretty
seriously unstable when you go through or are on the brink of bankruptcy, I
can tell you from personal experience.

But one way or another, the only way we ever seem to learn is the hard way -
hence I think the 'too big to fail' corporates should have been left to
fail. Otherwise we're going to have to go through it all over again.
Capitalism will inevitably revert towards a monopoly, corporations will get
bigger and bigger as the bigger ones get more lobbying power, buy up the
best employees, undercut the competition and use other illegal and unfair
tactics, create false (and real) barriers to entry for everyone else,
advertise the shit out of the market.and then complain when they shit in
their own nest, bring the global economy right to the point of collapse,
then demand taxpayer money to bail them out.

It's surreal. The 21st century is off to an unbelievably shit start. Guys at
the bank tonight on the FX desk were talking about recovery.I can't see it
yet. We'll see.

Well, considering what they've done in the past demonstrations, the amount
of different placards and causes
written on them, the different messages you get from everyone that's
interviewed, yeah...

This is not a particularcoherent message. Nothing like throwing flaming
objects or other projectiles at ppl. who are trying to
protect property that is about to be trashed. Quite a few of them consider
themselves "Anarchists" (though, I don't think
they're worthy of that title either) whose opinions are a bit more spread
out than just the economic crisis.

I also noticed that there seem to be lots of young folks in the audience. I
doubt many of them had homes or
massive retirement values. (Mind you this is pure conjecture on my part.)

You know, at least when Bush was around they all had a unifying theme "Bush
Nazi, Bush Hitler, Bush Terrorist,
Bush Killer, Bush Warmonger". Now that he's gone they are all over the
place. :(

Bailouts suck.... and should be killed...

Do you honestly believe that's what it all boils down to? Like none of them
are a might testy about being expected to bail out the banks who largely got
us into this mess in the first place? None of them have lost their jobs,
their homes, seen their savings and retirement values demolished etc.and the
money they paid into the govt's coffers is going to those responsible? None
of them are pissed off at the US govt (beginning with Clinton, furthered by
Bush) for doing away with Glass Steagal - the law enacted after the GREAT
DEPRESSION to prevent the same happening again?

There were all sorts of Placards there. There is no cohesion or message,
just a buncha twats who consider themselves
"anarchists" or whatever else acting like idiots. Personally, if I had the
money (Irony?) I'd go and protest about "The Gathering" Email
list and what a pain it is to add attachments.

Now I'm off to write letters to the Gov't about the dangers of Sani-wipes
and the countless billions
of microbes it's killed.
