[kj] (OT) Record stores in Manhattan

It seems like the good ones are gone (look at Alex's blog for details) OR they are not nearly as good as they used to be.  Kim's seems, sadly, disappointing nowadays.  I haven't been to Bleaker Bob's in years.  Everywhere else I used to hit regularly are long gone.

I can understand your appeal to Virgin.  I went in there once.  It is a tourist trap.  A-typical NYC store.  Big, lights, etc. 

It seems like the book stores ar estill going strong.

Both Virgin stores are slated to close next year. But you shouldn't spend your money there.
