Yeah, I have to agree the majority of shows have more of a "vibe" at the

Hollywood HOB.

I've been lucky enough to see Jane's Addiction over half a dozen times
dating back to their "Nothings Shocking" album in '88. IMO, drummer
Stephen
Perkins is one of the top 10 greatest rock drummers on the planet.

I've never really seen a bad show by them although a couple shows have
been
barely average. However, a few shows have been out of the ballpark home

runs including a Hollywood Palladium show early in the Ritual de Lo
Habitual
tour in '91 that was professionally recorded and filmed by the band
(several
songs from this show showed up on the "Kettle Whistle" album). Probably
the
best show I've caught and certainly my favorite was the ENIT festival
show
in San Francisco in '97 with Flea on bass.

Unlike a lot of Jane's fans, I liked the last studio album "Strays" in
'03 a
lot although the bass player they had that album and tour was not even
close
to Eric Avery or Flea.

There's going to be a pretty nice live cd/dvd box set of several key
Jane's
shows probably all from the original lineup coming out near the end of
'08.
