I'm happy to host bootlegs & unreleased stuff on P2P, I have tons of KJ stuff that I used to share out to the this list from my server, mr-pants - what the fuck does it matter to the band? Unless they decide to release it, I guess...

Well, it sucks when people try to make money off others' stuff, even if
it's out of print.

What gets me is artists or, better yet, spokespeople on their behalf,
who get upset when someone offers old demos, unreleased material, live
stuff that was never officially released -- for free. I had a link once
on my blog to a Bit Torrent file (I wasn't hosting it, it was just a
link) of all of Rudimentary Peni's UNRELEASED demos and an UNRELEASED
live show. There is nowhere you can buy this material and there never
has been.

I got a snakry comment from someone at Southern records that said
something like "Way to give away someone's life's work!" or something. I
emailed her back/asked her, "Where can I buy the band's unreleased stuff
to support them?" She didn't answer. I don't see how you could. I told
her if she could tell me, I would remove the link. but it was just a
link. I wasn't hosting the fucking stuff.
