Eventhough I appear to be massively negative on this subject, I've stated before that I'd rather work with what we have than have a revolution. Things just take time, along with the constant ebb & flow of value systems over the decades chucking spanners in said works...

Hrm...I wouldn't say so, I'm not contrary for the sake of it, I have some
opinions that are contrary to the norm, for sure, but to me they are
generally for logical reasons. Fuck. I just contradicted you. Sigh. :)

I haven't had that many logical arguments presented to me as to why
corporations deserve the rights of human beings, and have few of the
responsibilities. To me, businesses are subordinate to people, that's a
good starting point. Secondly, most people are self serving and
collaborate at a pretty local and selfish level..the US vs THEM paradigm I
was on about. The classes vs the masses. Rich vs poor. Business vs unions.
Management vs labour. East vs West. Christians vs Muslims. Americans vs
Chinese. Hip vs squares. Mods vs rockers. EMOS vs people with musical
taste...

So...my ideal political / economic / social utopia is one that puts people
first, and encourages collaboration at the international level. I don't
think it's good enough to say 'the left is as bad as the right,' that's a
cop out to me. Critical thinking, the scientific method, peer review, all
stipulate constant self-criticism, or system-criticism, in order to
constantly improve. I genuinely think the system can improve, just because
it hasn't for x years is irrelevant. It just makes you THINK it never can.

To me the idea of the free market, knowing human behaviour as I do, is a
nightmare. So is total government control. That much I agree on. Somewhere
within those extremes there has to be a better way.

I'm of the belief that a new international political movement could spring
up practically overnight over the internets. Just using the power of
education, economic collaboration, boycott, lobbying. Imagine what could
be done. I'm already working on The Manifesto. The goals of this
organisation would be unique. We wouldn't want mansions and all that...but
what we WOULD want, is TWO VILLAGES.

And a turnip.
