Nice one. I too used to be open to paranormal stuff, but that's long gone when you
start finding out how things work.
 
I regularly refer to Derren Browns' telly programme wherein he debunks a load of
mediumship for money type charlatans by doing their jobs better than them. He
pretends to be new on the scene & they happily endorse him, due to him doing
such a good job. Love it. All the time he's explaining to the viewers how incredibly
un-paranormal the whole thing is. He takes on a few different 'disciplines' & more
than proves himself to the 'experts'. He should be on Most Haunted.
 
Either it's post-modern entertainment for all involved, or the mediums believe their
own rubbish. Probably a bit of both!

   I totally agree with this, I think Jaz (along w/millions of others) has gone too 

far down the scenic pre-science route to explain something i feel regularly and 

frankly the seeming novelty of said states (trance, dissociate states,etc.) of it all 

even to Jaz is a bit surprising to read (tho' he's been on about this for years).

 

  I used to verge towards this paranormal/para-whatever sense of understanding 

'reality'  until i stumbled across some very well written books on applied psychology 

which pretty much summed it all up and in a way that let's one know oneself more 

and with much more proximity, access, and control over those "forces." 

 

 ~~ "..behind the Illusion of 'reality' are Forces that speak to me...." ~~ 

 

 

  That, and that religions have been mostly a bad projection of pain in order to 

maintain mental 'stability' even at the expense of genuine, natural morality, with 

only a scant few religions across geography and history actually attempting to 

provide genuine soul-healing. 


   I wonder if Jaz has ever partied with the Sufis or similar groups?

Well, I finally scanned through that pile of shite, sorry, I mean blog entry

from Jaz. The whole quest seems to be about this:

So essentially, we're talking about musicians & this ' vibrational

hypnotic state whilst playing'. Well, I'm afraid they've looked too

far, as they could probably get a better answer from a nuerosurgeon, or anyone

that knows about the brains' different 'modes' or 'trance

states' as they're more commonly referred to. I've certainly felt

this, though I've never thought it mystical, but it's common enough for

me to recognise it & think "is this what all the fuss is about?" I

see it as a mode & basically when playing, if it happens, well that's a

result. It's pretty much that point at which you totally forget what

you're doing & go into auto-pilot. The trick is to not panic &

start over-thinking again! THAT's when the mistakes creep in. Just

something as simple as playing along to Communion, getting into it & then

the strings kicking in can start to take you 'up'.



I'm sure ALL OF YOU have experienced this when listening, going to gigs,

etc. You might as well ask "why does good music give me

goosepimples?" but of course, that doesn't *quite* sound as

dark/mystical as some Gemetria bollocks.



I've never thought of it as "opening trans-dimensional gates to the

planets' cosmic harmonic energy", because that sounds like bollocks.

We tend to look OUTSIDE for answers to the inner questions, but the reality is

that we have much more to learn about our brains & bodies. I can only guess

that a lot of this mystical tat is pre-science attempts to explain these

phenomena, but as can be seen again & again, we'd rather jump to the

conclusions of outside influences/g0ds, than internal chemistry.



Anyone ever felt a 'rush'? Wow, that's not a burst of chemicals,

that's g0d filling your cavity, or whatever. Sad sad sad...

I wanna see Tool involved, you couldn't find a musician more into all this

stuff than Danny Carey, and you'd also have to look fucking far and wide to

find a more badass drummer, as Frank put it...



The only band I can think of that could match Killing Joke for

occultishness...a cursory search of Tool sites will provide days worth of

reading about that aspect...so, get your cursors out...



And I can't wait to see what's up with the guy called Tony Assassin.
