Innit. Have you noticed how old punks aren't allowed to change their minds from the statements they
made when they were teenagers? Even The Who's "hope I die before I get old" follows them like a
curse!
 
The kids create the scene, then the earnalists get involved & start making up their own rules, taking
control back, just like the NME in the 80's/90's, fucking bands over that they just didn't like...

Dunno what you're talking about as I've been wool-gathering but I like this, Ade.
'Self-contradiction'... love it, it reveals an open and levelled mind.
Being too principalistic makes me itch.  Stinks of unbalanced, tunnel vision.

 

It's a difficult one, because we SHOULD change our minds about stuff as we get older/learn more.

I don't mind being a hypocrite anymore, because we all are, that includes you!

I did try for a while to cultivate respect based on my admiration of people who stick to their principles - I am especially intolerant of hypocrites. The problem with that approach is that it is impossible to overlook the fact that the principles in question fly in the face of: a) common sense; b) common decency; and c) the necessary dose of sanity to enable one to function in normal society without attracting villagers wielding burning faggots.
