33 was generally pretty reliably high, for most ppl. 56 is a lot more
ambitious in the way it encodes the data (or summit) and wasn't as reliably
high, more susceptible to line noise. My 1st real IT job was on an ISP
helpdesk, and limiting connections to 33 was a common fix...poorer lines
were often able to sustain that but not 56.



Anyways, even if you're on 2 kbps it's a matter of mins not an hour ;)



I am supposed to be on 8 or so MB I think but I'm lucky to get half that
most of the time.

Of course, the chance that the average 33kbps line actually averaged 33 was
rare . .

How many people here are on "Up to 10meg"?

How many actually get 10meg (or anywhere near)?
