[kj] OTG; ruminations on remaster - lyric

I hadn't listened to OTG since EDAVRE (if not earlier).

I went to the Porchester Halls gig, with the thought that if they played
stuff that sounded like OTG, then that was it: Killing Joke were history
for me.

They started with Extremities. Nuff said!

I had totally forgotten most of OTG - I recalled My Love of This Land &
Obsession mainly due to "For Beginners"

One listen has imprinted it all back on my mind, & it's not half as bad
as remember. I dismissed it as 8 versions of Under A Southern Sky (which
I hate - see last post).

It has it's moments. I had forgotten the later part of "The Calling"
where the key drops & drops, until, for one bar, you get what sounds
like Wardance.

I'm not one for lyrics, but there's a line on this lp that I've never
forgotten, & and use as Mantra in times of stress. Perhaps I should use
it as my signature;

DON'T LOSE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOUR, ENTERTAIN THE WILDEST THOUGHTS.

cheers
paul

PS see one or two of you netx Friday
