[kj] OT: Angry music

I’m quite happy to take it on the chin about Tool and Soundgarden, if it’s
not your flavour, no dramas. I have to say, anyone hassling Killing Joke
though…forgive them father, they know not what they do! Too long, too good,
too influential, too unique…get a clue. I’ll generally leave it alone, but I
think you’re downright indefensibly wrong if you don’t get the Joke. And
most people don’t. Oh well.

If you like good drumming though you’d probably still appreciate all of
Danny’s work with Tool…he’s a beast. AND he took a leaf from the Jokebook
and arranges his compositions numerologically (!).

Opiate and Undertow are both great. Everything that came after gets
progressively worse. Rehashed riffs and rhythms with a hearty helping of
pretentiousness.

The lil speech Maynard gives at the beginning of the live version of Push It
on Salival is itself enough to place a lifetime ban on all things Tool.
Lamest shit ever.

Steady on! I disagree wholeheartedly (but we can still be friends…)

Exorcism - I’m with you on that. Ade you said you can’t see the same anger
in post-Extremities stuff…what about Exorcism? Implant?

Tool are crap. Always were. Always will be.

Favorite angry songs:

"Exorcism" by Killing Joke (duh)

"I Will Refuse" by Pailhead

"Drop The Bombs" by Cop Shoot Cop

"Evil Eye" by Pussy Galore

"Five Minutes" by The Stranglers

...loads more.

Okay favourite angry song submissions please. I won’t even start with Tool,
that’s cheating :-)

This song rips me a new one every time…I’m a bloody pin cushion now. Has to
be played LOUD, Joke Loud. Have a moistie ready for the climax ;)

Quite a good vid for this one:

Soundgarden - Mailman

Hello don't you know me
I'm the dirt beneath your feet
The most important fool you forgot to see
I've seen how you give it
Now I want to receive
I know that you would do the same for me

I know I'm headed for the bottom
But I'm riding you all the way

For all of your kisses turned to spit in my face
For all that reminds me which is my place
For all of the times when you made me disappear
This time I'm sure you will know that I'm here

I know I'm headed for the bottom
But I'm riding you all the way

My place was beneath you but now I'm above
And now I send you a message of love
A simple reminder of what you won't see
A future so holy without me

I know I'm headed for the bottom
But I'm riding you all the way
