[kj] When Goths Cry...

Jack Black does one in School of Rock. I was gratified to note Soundgarden
there. Wasn’t trainspottable enough to bother pausing it and checking it out
properly…there’s ones you can buy online, but the one I looked at was shite.

No, I've not heard the horrors of that travesty, but it seems pretty clear
that Cleopatra *shit* their

releases into the world.

As for labels, I find them a handy way of thinking about different genres &
how they influence

each, which is an interest of mine. I'd probably get a fair amount of
erectile pressure from one of

those 'Rock Family Trees' diagrams of UK Punk/Post-Punk.

The problems arise when people insist on music having to be something or
other. I personally think genres and scenes suck....as well as
cleopatra...did you ever hear what they did to all the Angelic Upstarts back
cat...it sounds like it was mastered at 8 bit!

mighty Nephs, March Violets. But I'm a big post-punk fan & there's that
period when the cross-over was so great between those genres that you can
hardly pin the bands down to any particular sound.

well is: http://www.amazon.com/Passion-Covers-Tribute-Bauhaus/dp/B000001JU6
- gotta puke at the reviews - gas them like badgers), with all those AWFUL
covers, which are truly SHITE, I realised that I was only really interested
in the earlier bands, for their inventiveness I expect.
