Back on December 7, 2007, there was an exchange on this very list about
the Ion USB turntable. I have one and can't recommend it. It sucks.
Hollow plastic, looks great in photos, in person it feels like a
Fischer-Price toy, and every time I use it to play records or rip vinyl
to mp3 it emits a static-y interference ruins the sounds. Here's what

Does he have the Ion USB turntable?

That's what I have -- an Ion USB turntable. It works with my Mac, but it
would also work with a PC. It is a piece of crap. On problem I haven't
been able to solve is that it seems to emit some radio interference
signal that makes the vinyl rips sound extra, extra scratchy. It hasn't
worked very reliably at all.

So don't get the Ion USB turntable for vinyl-to-computer mp3rips. It sucks.

DON"T GET IT
He said it is the biggest piece of garbage and he wouldn't put a Bread
lp on it (meaning it will wreck you vinyl)
If you already have a turntable you can pick up a cheap audio interface,
that is decent, for under $100
