Oliver, how old are you, 15? Fugazi are like grandparents of the "glory days". Seriously (when you get to be MY age I guess you get serious) I saw them many years ago and was not impressed--nothing bad about them, but not one of those shows I'll always remember. Shows I WILL always remember:
*Killing Joke (or course), Houston, TexAss, 1981 (about 40 people at the show but still amazing)...
*Killing Joke, Boston, 1994 (need I say more?)
*Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, Boston, 1999 (a near riot broke out in a disco, due to Uncle Joe's encouragement)
*Black Flag, Cleveland, Ohio, around 1983 (w/Henry and Chuck Dukowski)
*Jason and the Scorchers, numerous Boston shows in the late 80s/early 90s(country punkers)
*Stiff Little Fingers, Boston, 1987 or 88 (1st reunion tour)
*Stiff Little Fingers, Boston, about 1/2 dozen shows since 1987
*Bad Manners, Providence, Rhode Island, late 80s or early 90s (who can beat a Fat Guy, a trumpet, a baritone sax, and an electric violin playing extraordinary ska to perfection)
*Special Beat, Boston, around 1989 (and many other times)
*Boukman Eksperians
And many others, but I'm tired of typing...

The so-called 'glory days' being a very subjective thing, of course. But, for example, I never saw Skinny Puppy until a couple of years ago (and then again a few months ago), so I missed out on Too Dark Park, VIVISect, Last Rights, etc. Never saw Nomeansno circa 'Wrong'. Never saw Faith No More circa 'Angel Dust'. Never saw the Jesus Lizard circa 'Goat'. The list is endless. There's not a whole lot I can say for myself. I saw Anthrax on the Persistence of Time tour which I think was their artistic peak. I saw Failure before Magnified came out. I saw Mr. Bungle on the Disco Volante tour which also featured Melt Banana who were touring Scratch or Stitch. Saw Shudder To Think on the Pony Express Album tour which is undeniably their tour de force. I also got to see Khanate before they broke up which I'm really happy about. Anyone else got any tales from the glory days?> >> > Leigh> >> >> > > >> > > > > _______________________________________________> Gathering mailing list> Gathering at misera.net> http://four.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/gathering
