Leigh, how old are you, 12? Seriously, the only band I've heard of that you mentioned is Faith No More, and I think I saw them about 15 or 20 years ago--believe me, you missed Nothing! If you want a taste of the good old days, and, if you live in the US, go see the MEAT PUPPETS on their current tour--it's the closest thing i've seen in a few years to the old SST days (Black Flag, Minutemen, Husker Du, etc)...> Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2007 20:00:36 -0700> From: angrytomhanks at yahoo.com> To: gathering at misera.net> Subject: Re: [kj] feast of blaze(original).> > Sad to say that I missed the glory days of almost all my favourite bands. The so-called 'glory days' being a very subjective thing, of course. But, for example, I never saw Skinny Puppy until a couple of years ago (and then again a few months ago), so I missed out on Too Dark Park, VIVISect, Last Rights, etc. Never saw Nomeansno circa 'Wrong'. Never saw Faith No More circa 'Angel Dust'. Never saw the Jesus Lizard circa 'Goat'. The list is endless. There's not a whole lot I can say for myself. I saw Anthrax on the Persistence of Time tour which I think was their artistic peak. I saw Failure before Magnified came out. I saw Mr. Bungle on the Disco Volante tour which also featured Melt Banana who were touring Scratch or Stitch. Saw Shudder To Think on the Pony Express Album tour which is undeniably their tour de force. I also got to see Khanate before they broke up which I'm really happy about. Anyone else got any tales from the glory days?> > Leigh> > > ----- Original Message ----> From: melinda grant <hollytree1961 at hotmail.com>> To: gathering at misera.net> Sent: Friday, September 14, 2007 4:09:42 PM> Subject: Re: [kj] feast of blaze(original).> > > thanx leigh ;) that was a good gathering-- clarendon, well to me they all > were--but then again,if you were not old enough to attend or some not even > born in k.j glory early days, then its not your faults that you missed all > those many--many early shows, your into them now,so better late than not at > all ;-D!!!> > melinda--who saw there glory days again and again and again-there were many > opportunities back then ;)> > > > > > > >From: Leigh Newton <angrytomhanks at yahoo.com>> >Reply-To: "A list about all things Killing Joke (the > >band!)"<gathering at misera.net>> >To: "A list about all things Killing Joke (the band!)" > ><gathering at misera.net>> >Subject: Re: [kj] feast of blaze(original).> >Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2007 09:00:54 -0700 (PDT)> >> >Hell, they even gave Requiem a miss!
