[kj] DVD ripping software?

Does Nero do the ripping and transcoding tho? I have Nero and other
utilities to burn CDs / DVDs, but that's step 3 in DVD burning from what I
gather.

Step 1 is ripping (ripping off any copy protection). I'm using AnyDVD
(trial), it works in the background automatically.

Step 2 is transcoding (most DVDs use up to 9 GB but DVD-R uses 4.5 so it
needs to be compressed, or split up...). Am using CloneDVD (trial)

Step 3 is burning to blank DVD, the easy part. CloneDVD takes care of this
part too.

Unfortunately it's kinda hard for me to test them because my DVD playing
software expired...
