[kj] GEORDIE'S TRACKS AVAILABLE

Paul is exactly right. Geordie really doesn't have a hope in hell of gaining any commercial success with this. No record company would touch it with a 10-foot pole. What the music sounds like is the least of their concerns too. Mostly to do with the fact that no kid is gonna be into a group or an artist who is more than twice their age and whom they've never heard of. It just doesn't happen like that anymore. At least not in North America. I know it's a whole difference ballgame in Europe, or at least I think it is.

That said, everyone's just assuming that this is Geordie's angle with this stuff. Just because it's very digestable and middle-of-the-road sounding, that doesn't necessarily mean he's going for a cash-grab. Maybe he just really likes it. Either way, I still say....yuck.

Ooh, you're a cheeky monkey.

You're damn right it's not meant to be Killing Joke - IT'S MEANT TO BE BETTER!

He may or may not have made a smart move enlisting this vocalist (and she may or may not have been wise to get the backing of someone with a pedigree to help her stand out from the crowd)... only time will tell. But it's a saturated market and for every Lily Allen success story there must be thousands of failures. Pink can also write half-decent lyrics. It's not just about the image.

I think he's left it a bit late to go commercial. There must be easier ways to get rich. Maybe production (like Youth - I'm not saying it's easy, but he's a better producer than Youth in my opinion so it's entirely possible), or session work/touring with a commercial band.

Anyway, if he does get lucky and make some money with this I hope he uses it to record the album most of us would probably prefer to hear. Something pure, that only he can do.

I wonder if JC001 is available for the extended remixes?

Yeah, I'd teach him how to play that 6 string !! :-)

Seriously though, I think he's made a clever choice.
Cute girl singer with great image. Marketable

The market is 14-15 year kids, I'm reminded of Pink I guess and why the hell not? Good luck to him, make some money. Old farts like us don't spend the cash like the young uns!

>From what I have heard it's OK. It's not Killing Joke and it's not meant to be so don't get upset!!
