I must disagree , the Ramones  didnt spark the UK punk scene at all, they may have galvanised it or gave it publicity , but they didnt spark it .
    At the time (1976) in the U.S., the Ramones were plagued by hostile audience reaction wherever they played in the states (bar  Noi Yoik) and it wasnt until the Ramones toured the UK that they began to see the fruits of their Labour , so instead of "sparking the UK punk scene " they did infact use the burgeoning UK punk scene to gain worldwide popularity............the Ramones hitched a free ride on the back of the UK's originality .
     America in general didnt want to know the Ramones , they needed to come to the UK to get  recognition .
    Those lard assed bearded lumberjack Americans in their checked cotton shirts didnt want to know the Ramones...................the Ramones had to come to the UK to *make it*
