just because you subscribe a value to this dogma and therefore you
will always look through those Ramones tinted spectacles, doesnt mean
everyone else subscribes to it!
I was reading stuff around teh Ruts the other day and the life style
of those young punks were not touched by freaks in New York but by the
harsh reality of the life in Britains streets at the time, terrace
culture, nationalism and national identity, hormones. People listened
to singles but the instigation was their social infrastructure not
some romantic notion that a band changed that who were not
identifiable to the youth of the street.
