Hi All

With the sad news on Paul, I didn't giv it thought to post the news here and
felt it best
for the official announcment to come out. Anyway I received an email from a
friend with regards to a benifit
gig in aid of Paul, which I will post below. If you can make it please do.
The Venue is The Crown and Treaty
Uxbridge Middlesex.

are causing most of his pain
i doubt he'll be living back at the treaty but there is a benefit gig in his
aid on 7pm 7th of the 7th 2007 (july 7th) at the treaty and he even wants to
play the gig with either the ruts or his other band the dub cats

I liked his Invaders of the Heart stuff.
I also thought he really clicked well with Geordie on the DM stuff.
Kind of a bubbling (dubbling?) seamless undercurrent & perfect melding with
Geordie?s style.
A bit Youth, but also quite different & mercifully not metal.
(I?m convinced that with non-metal bass & non metal drums Killing Joke would
really open up/return to a whole other musical dimension)
I for one am very much looking forward to a bit of Geordie/Wobble [insert
alcohol gag here]
I am really excited by the whole prospect of this album ? I?m just praying
that this something new & fresh & doesn?t end up down a familiarly trodden
path (murder Inc, DM etc) & that Chris Connelly is already booked up!

Although I find a lot of his material distasteful, I think the guy was
genuinely harmless.
I used to work for Granada TV & knew people who had worked on his stuff who
said the same.
Also a surprising amount of black/asian people.

Anyway, bugger what he was/wasn?t.
I like jokes & silly things & this one made me laugh. He told it on Wogan
(I think)

Guy comes home from work & bursts into the living room & says to his wife
?Woo-hoo! I?ve won the lottery! Get packing!?
?really?!?
?Yup. C?mon pack your bags?
?Brilliant! Shall I pack something warm or summery??
?I don?t care, just pack your bags & fuck off?

"In these times" -- man, what has the world come to?

90% of the this thread is folks imagining they're victimized for liking
Manning, which is funnier than most stuff he said/did.

"like Manning" - what, 'cos I laugh at one or two of his jokes, I
like Manning? I laugh moreso at how he got the piss ripped out of him
with the Cake thing in Brasseye.

Look, over here, more & more stuff is getting taken away. Smokers are
getting full-on hate thrown at them on forums - smokers for fucksake!
It'll be alcohol banned next, people will be paying loads more tax
to compensate for the tax creamed off smokers (& drinkers maybe?)
Everyone will be happy with their new pure lifestyles. When smoking
has gone (eventually), will we be banning the pollution in the air
to combat any lung disease it may cause? I fucking doubt it!

I'm just sick of the section of lefties that has to jump on the racism
bandwagon if someone says black. PC has gone too far - someone has only
to be a bit contraversial to get accusations thrown at them. Pure
assumption that shows the accusers own prejudice.

See, I'm not really defending Manning, more my own right to choose
without being labelled. I love 'Derek & Clive' like nothing else,
but does that make my views of race questionable? Are Monty Python
EVIL for creating a character called "Mrs Niggerbaiter"? (LOL!!)
I bet the telly bosses would sit & think about that one before airing
it.

Times ARE changing & it's making interesting viewing...

Fuck what a pathetic bleat, as if he didn't have a choice to go on those
shows. I watched a couple of episodes, (in the way that you can't help
watching a car crash), and he was WILLINGLY sucking satan's dick.

Pretty amazing that it damaged his reputation, perhaps there's some hope
for the people who watch those shows...

And Motley Cr?e 'Heavy Metal'...whatever.

Good point! Following that logic everyone having a surreptitious joint
understands they are doing something 'wrong'. Guy was trying to be too
clever and thought he would slip that one through obviously. Probably a

I'm not venturing a comment on the Manning issue at all cos I KNOW
NOTHINK, but agreed re Derek & Clive being brilliant.

This is one of my favourites of theirs, the video kinda adds to the fun I
think.

Very risk-aye for the time (sorry can't find the bloody accent thingy):
